Gradient fill and quick how to

The post is only a reference on how to do this type of fill in the future.I feel it will come in use on my other posters as it looks very smart and professional.Here is the screen shot i took earlier;
this shows what i have to type in.
Also i have edited one of the pictures i took earlier(A art apron)And selected the background:
It went from the above picture:
This was the image after a few alterations.

After a few alterations i included both the background and the gridded picture together to make a simple image:
A experiment with composer and where to put what. The aim of this lesson was to make us realise where we have gone wrong and to open our eyes to the quality that our work is supposed to be at.I am very aware that the pictures that where taken at the start of this lesson were not of high enough quality and i aim to change that fact. The 'A catchy tag' part is just for my own example. The type face would of course be a different font that is bolder and fits my page9this is only a example though).

Advertisement posters and ideas to forward my research

Ikea was the first main focus of my research.While looking i found images such as;
A very cheeky advertisement that made me laugh.A very clever way to make a statement that children wouldn't understand and wouldn't offend anyone.
Other images compositions are as such:
Image quality is apauling but couldn't find any other image of this exact thing.
The set up of this image is smart and simple.Using their own brand as a set up ,to me, is a good idea.
Moving on to the more colourful compositions of advertising and poster:
This images use colour association. For the first one the royal red would mean it is higher class and that the furniture is inside. While the blue could represent the bathroom or sky.
My last image is more for the great pun idea which,for me,is a automatic attention grabber.The wit makes it all the better;

pictures taken as examples

These pictures were taken to start my project off.I used the micro lenses on a college camera and while most of the images were blurry and not of high enough quality,I found that a few were usable. These will not be going into my final poster or end result though as they do not fit and ideas i have had at this current time.I shall be taking more pictures later on.

The apron was one of my first idea stickers but i have since then changed my mind when looking at advertising.

these mages were taken to help aid me in future work(which they did).

Bauhaus/German propaganda/Scott Hansen

Art styles and ideas for the beginning of my new project:
For Unit 45 we have to make

Below are some of the pieces i have enjoyed looking at from the bauhaus art work.
In the one below i like the thick black lines and whole colours.
This pieces is very different to the first one as the lines are thinner then others and it can be considered quite blocky.

German propaganda:
Here are some of the pieces of German posters that attracted my vision

One thing that makes this poster so loud is the huge JA in it with the striking red font.
The colours in all the german posters at that time seem to have very dull and similar colour styles

Scott Hansen:

Scott's Style is very hippy and faded i love the way shapes are layered and the go up tone by tone.
The black and grey backgrounds also contrast well with the colours. His artwork generally makes me feel happy and always give off a positive vibe.I want to use his style to further my ideas.

Notes from presentation and general evaluation on work

My presentation
After i had done my presentation i felt that i had done well (not quite as well as i did in my last presentation).I felt though that my evolution was good(but better on my actual blog) and that by adding pictures taken from my sketch book.It gave people a better idea of what i had started with before hand.
Overall i feel as in my lack of love for this unit showed in my presentation and that it could have been longer. But on the other hand the fact it was shorter could have benefited me as peoples concentration would have been held for longer.

Poster:
My poster was by far the one i enjoyed doing the most.I found it fun to play around with layout formats. The research i put towards my poster payed off as i got it exactly how i wanted it.
Overall i hope to get top marks on this.
Billboard:
My billboard was one i didn't enjoy as much.Even though i tried to make many different ones, very few made me feel like they represented my product.I had to make a very unexpected change to my final one as the colours i had put on it were to bright and i would not be able to use them on main roads(this would have caused crashes as they were very bright and eye catching).Overall i wasn't that optimistic at the thought of doing a billboard(because of the size and angles i would have to set it up at)but it turned out okay.
Box design:
My box design was a lot harder then any other tasks in Unit 50.I had put more research into finding the right box net and style for the box then anything else(though this started the ideas for my advertisements so in a way it was very much needed)After experimenting with several different box designs i am quite contented with mine(though i wish i could have changed the 60s high end bright patterns).Generally my box was okay besides struggling with what to put in the background(though after some researching and experimenting it went a lot better).
POS:
My point of sale was quite easy as i already had in mind what i would do.I looked around stores like Tesco's and sainsbury's and quickly found insperation.I made my own shelf and box containers out of paper and used them in the presentation.I ,of course, constructed the box holder before hand.
Infer graphics:
MY infer graphics was my instructions and was hand drawn and them edited in photoshop. This was quite easy and only took a hour or so to sort out.Overall there not much to say other then i am glad i drew it out and edited it as i feel any other way would have taken longer. Also i felt my instructions were perfect for my product (with the paw prints and all).

Distressed materials shapes and drawing styles

My examples and ideas that would lead towards the completatin of my unit.I really want to express my ideas and drawings without being afraid that my style and art work isn't good enough. Some of the work I will be posting will go through rough ideas.
I feel as if I get all my ideas out in the open it will help me to decide what to do with all the information I have gained. This unit has been,by far,one of the most important to me about what I shall do in the future.
Examples of pots that I have worked on:
1.
A general look

Close.up

Turned over

Out of all my tries and attempts to begin with.I liked this one the most due to its range of colours and it's shape even though it did not by any means fit into my ideas of.making a pot it still was a starting point by all means though I deal I would have hated it as mum h as.I disliked the others had it not been for the colours.

A general look

From above
This pot is a lot bigger and heavier then it looks and weighed more then you'd of thought.it had no colour and was by far my simplest pot.made from Litrally scooping out the clay from a lump and then shaping it.Not much else can be said about this other than its np where near acceptable.

A general look

Looked at from the side

A close up
This pot was shaped to have mini holes which I made using a pencil of which I shoved into the other while it dried to make said holes. The pot also received a slight dusting as well which gave it a intresting look.I took this idea of my pot being slightly corroded from ceramic artist which helped me.with this idea:
Below are the fist sketchy I made.of these pots and.the start of my ideas:

A close up look

Looking down
This pot was by far my least favorite as it gave me no reason to like. The pottery tried at a bad angle thus leaving it leaning and I was unable to use it.Most pierce of it looked like.it would fall off and crumble.which for the work I wised to presume (Work that was disgusting and made people react to it negatively would have of worked but in hindsight I never thought this far)

Overall these beginning ideas were good and I and I felt they helped me start out in my project knowing what worked and what didn't

Research into Nic Collins (sculpture)

To begin my

While looking into different types of sculptures I have given the boption of Nic Collins who is a

info
Nic has now been using clay for almost 30 years. His first encounters with woodfiring began because he had no other way to fire his work. In his late teens and early twenties he began building kilns and wheels and sourcing his own clay from the local river banks. He experimented with raku, sawdust firings and saltglazing.
*taken from his bio on his blogger
Below is one of his blogs were he describes the process of one of his pots.I find it very interesting as it will help me with ideas for the future..

Some of he's work includes:
What a love about his pots are the texture and the way they
Look anchant and old(even though they are new)the colours add to the old look and makes the pot look so different.
I've done some sketch's in the place of NICs work to get a idea of what I would take from his work:
Above was a painting I did to help me from ideas and give me a sense of the shape I'd be working with.below are some more of.my drawings and concept ideas I went through
